Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.

Having taught for over 35 years, my life is full of friendships, both short and long. It would be impossible to thank everybody who has made an impact or been part of what I am today.  Unfortunately many of my teachers who imparted so much are no longer with us.  To some of my dear friends I just want to say "Thanks"

  Martin Simmonds

My Best Friend, Mentor, & Professional Coach.  Martin was  my “Dancing Dad”.  Martin not only imparted a tremendous depth of knowledge but also much of  his passion for helping and encouraging young Professionals and his belief in the future of the profession  rubbed off,

Much of my teaching today still has a hint of Martin.

Martin sadly passed away on 28th February 09

  Liz Romain

Liz was  my “Dancing Aunt”

A lovely Lady!  We have spent many hours together taking the Ballroom & Latin Technique apart.

Like Martin she has a marvelous brain for technical analysis and has faith and belief in the future and Quality of the Dance profession.

What would I have done without her?!

  Anne Lingard

My dear friend Anne and “Dancing Big Sister”.  Anne is one of my prime motivators a tremendous source of encouragement and guidance.  One of todays top Dance Technicians. Anne now spends much of her time travelling the Globe promoting quality and excellence in Dance Internationally.

  Bill Irvine

Mr William Irvine MBE

Bill was my Ballroom Mentor, working with Bill was pure inspiration, not only did he form my Ballroom Dancing but influenced my love of Ballroom technique and discipline to obtain perfection in Dance. My belief in the future of Dance and especially the Imperial Society is much due to Bill.

  Sydney Francis

I had the pleasure of working with Sydney during my competitive career and later when teaching at his Studio in Hendon.

Syney was pure inspiration and his passion simply rubbed off.  Sydney taught me a lot about life and especially encouraged me to “Think outide of the square”

Sydney is no longer with us and I still miss him lots, especially when in certain situation I think, -“What would Sydney do”?

  Mick Stylianos

Mr Michael Stylianos

Working with Mike (alias Mr Latin) at "Top of the Stairs" was simply mind blowing. My only regret was meeting him too late. Not only did Mike do much of my own choreography but much of his concept on creative choreography rubbed off.

  Anthony Goodyear

Every week for as long as I can remember I took the trip to Bath to work with one of my favourite Latin teachers Tony Goodyear. Not only was Anthony my Coach, but taught me how to Coach and to achieve quality through simplicity and technical accuracy, something I have always and will always value.

  Nina Hunt

Even today a strong influence.

For many years as an active competitor I worked with Nina, a lady who had a strong influence on my Latin American dancing and teaching, a friend who opened our minds.

  John Del Roy
 Totally eccentric but a genius
