Started dancing aged 2 1/2 years old.
Stage performance from 12 years old plus a little teaching from 14 years old.
Qualified with ISTD 1941 (Theatre Faculties).
While doing war work was asked to teach Ballroom dancing.
Trained with the famous Alex Moore, eventually falling in love with this branch of dancing, and then Latin American dance.
Continued teaching Theatre branches in own school until 1962 while conducting Ballroom and Latin American professional training classes at the Alex Moore School, then becoming a partner in the latter.
Competed a little but loved the teaching too much to pursue this aspect of dance.
Became a committee member of the Latin American Faculty in 1968,
and was also appointed a Ballroom and Latin American examiner at this time.
Edited the original ISTD Latin American technique book which was published in 1974 and the
Latin American "Popular Variations" book published in 1982.
Also edited all the current Latin American technique books.
Recipient of the Carl Alan Teacher's Award in 1973, presented by HRH Princess Margaret.
In 1990 received the Imperial Award for outstanding services to the Society throughout the world.
Travelled extensively conducting seminars in Ballroom and Latin American technique in USA, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Canada and many European countries to name but a few.
Produced and presented video cassettes for the preparation for professional examinations,
which have helped teachers world-wide to qualify with ISTD.
Appointed Chairman of the Latin American Faculty in 1998,
unfortunately unable to complete term of office through an unexpected and prolonged bout of ill health.
Elizabeth became a Vice President of the Imperial Society in 2004.
